40-year-old Marques Quantez Heath, an inmate at SC's Broad River Correctional Institution, has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a weapon by an inmate in the death of his cellmate, Donnel Geoffrey Brown, found unresponsive on Nov 7, 2023. Heath is serving a life sentence without parole for previous drug and assault charges.
