The Vancouver Police Department's campaign to hire 20 officers from other Canadian police forces and offer each a $10,000 signing bonus has been successful, attracting officers from across Canada. Police Chief Adam Palmer has said the campaign will continue indefinitely due to its success. The VPD launched the initiative in January, drawing from departments in Alberta, Ontario, and the Maritimes, as well as the Surrey Police Service.
