Taiwan's U-Ming Marine Transport and Japanese trading company Itochu have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly own and operate ammonia-fuelled bulk carriers. The partnership aims to lower greenhouse gas emissions and is part of Itochu's project to develop ammonia as a marine fuel. The two companies will also investigate the use of methanol and energy-saving devices in the maritime industry.
