Atlantic Canada's insolvent SaltWire Network, the largest media company in the region, has received an extension to creditor protection until May 3. The company, which owes over $90 million, has been granted permission to continue operating under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA). Nova Scotia Supreme Court Justice John Keith approved a proposal by SaltWire's principal lender, Fiera Private Debt, to loan the company $1.5 million in operating funds as it attempts to restructure and survive.
