Researchers find unpatchable security flaw "GoFetch" in Apple's M-series chips, exploiting DMPs and exposing encryption keys.

Researchers have discovered a new unpatchable security flaw in Apple's Silicon M-series chips, affecting M1, M2, and M3 Macs. The vulnerability, dubbed "GoFetch", exploits Data Memory-Dependent Prefetchers (DMPs) and could allow hackers to extract sensitive encryption keys during cryptographic operations. This flaw is hardware-based and cannot be fixed with software updates, leaving Apple with the challenge of developing workarounds to protect users' data.
