Michigan's Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission, tasked with drawing district lines, has approved a wage increase for a redistricting session mandated by court order. The commission increased its pay to 35% of the governor's salary during sessions of remapping Detroit-area districts, up from the previous 25% rate. The 35% raise is the same rate the commissioners received while drawing the initial maps.
