Mercedes' F1 set-up changes "massively backfired" during the Australian Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton finishing 18th in the second practice session, over 1.5 seconds slower than Ferrari's Charles Leclerc. The team experimented with two different setups in the cars, but it resulted in Hamilton's struggles. Motor Racing boss Toto Wolff stated that the changes had "massively backfired."
