The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 1.59 kg of cocaine worth Rs 15 crore in New Delhi on 22 March, arresting two individuals involved in smuggling narcotic drugs into the country. The syndicate was involved in smuggling Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) from Africa via the Indo-Nepal border. Both the carrier and the recipient were arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
