Japan's Kaori Sakamoto claimed her third consecutive figure skating world title in Montreal, becoming the first woman to achieve this feat since American Peggy Fleming in 1968. Sakamoto's flawless routine featured multiple triple jumps, securing her the gold with a total of 222.96 points, more than 10 points ahead of 17-year-old American Isabeau Levito. Kim Chae-yeon of South Korea took bronze with 203.59 points.
