IPU hosted Armenian and Azerbaijani high-level delegations to discuss peace process and parliamentary dialogue.
The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) hosted high-level delegations of Armenia and Azerbaijan on the eve of its 148th Assembly in Geneva. IPU President Tulia Ackson and Secretary General Martin Chungong welcomed the Armenian delegation, led by Speaker Alen Simonyan, and the Azerbaijani delegation, led by Speaker Sahiba Gafarova. The meeting aimed to address avenues for the parliaments of both countries to contribute to the ongoing peace process amidst negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and explore dialogue possibilities at the parliamentary level. The IPU offered its good offices to facilitate dialogue.
