Houston ISD has reversed its decision to use mid-year principal proficiency screenings as a basis for employment decisions, following community backlash and criticism. The district had previously warned 117 principals to improve their performance or risk removal. Superintendent Mike Miles will continue to use instructional and student achievement data for evaluations, according to Board Policy DNB (LOCAL).
