CBI initiates searches at TMC leader Mahua Moitra's premises in West Bengal over cash-for-query allegations.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has initiated searches at the premises of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Mahua Moitra, including her residence in West Bengal, in connection with the alleged cash-for-query case. The CBI registered an FIR against Moitra on the directives of the Lokpal, instructing the agency to file a report within six months and provide periodical reports regarding the investigation's status every month. The Lokpal received allegations from BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, who claimed that Moitra had questioned lawmakers in the House in exchange for money and gifts from businessman Darshan Hiranandani.
