A 35-year-old man, Yang "Christopher" Liang, has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a woman near the University of British Columbia (UBC) campus. Police believe the incident may have been an instance of intimate partner violence. The victim was found dead at a residence in the 5400-block of Shortcut Road on March 13. Liang appeared in Richmond Provincial Court on March 21 and was ordered to be held in custody until further proceedings.
