91-year-old Larry Gaither Brooks was killed in a three-vehicle crash on Smokey Park Highway in Asheville. The preliminary investigation indicates a GMC Sierra truck attempted to turn left onto Acton Circle, impacting Brooks' Hyundai Accent, which then struck a Nissan Titan. Brooks' son and daughter were also in the vehicle and taken to Mission Hospital; one remains in critical condition. The GMC driver was uninjured.
