US Navy chief, Admiral John Aquilino, warns that China could invade Taiwan by 2027, possibly sparking World War III. Speaking to Congress, Aquilino believes the Chinese military, People's Liberation Army (PLA), will invade the island nation to reunite it with the mainland by force, a goal of Chinese President Xi Jinping. China has increased its defense spending to 16% of its budget and has added over 400 fighter aircraft and 20 major warships equipped with ballistics and cruise missiles in 2020.
