Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Montreal police arrested 34 suspects in Quebec as part of Project Volcano, targeting Ontario car theft suspects. The operation, conducted over three days in the greater Montreal area, resulted in many vehicles allegedly stolen in the Greater Toronto Area being brought to the Port of Montreal for export by suspects residing in Quebec. Nearly 3,000 vehicles were reported stolen in Ontario in the past seven weeks.
