2025 Ram 1500 replaces V8 with a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine, offering increased horsepower and torque but similar fuel economy to its predecessor. The new model has better fuel efficiency than Ford's 3.5-liter turbo V6 and Toyota's twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6, but falls short of GM trucks' diesel straight-sixes and hybrid powertrains. The most efficient Ram 1500 still uses the old 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6, achieving up to 23 mpg combined.
