PM Modi's PLI scheme boosted Indian electronics sector with Apple achieving Rs 1 lakh crore worth iPhone production in 11 months, generating jobs in Foxconn, Pegatron, and Wistron factories.
Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that PM Modi's PLI scheme has significantly boosted production, exports, and job creation in the electronics sector. Under the scheme, Apple achieved over Rs 1 lakh crore worth of iPhone production in just 11 months of FY24, with 2/3rds of the production being exported from India. This has led to the generation of massive new jobs for the youth in iPhone factories run by Foxconn, Pegatron, and Wistron.
