Nigerian Minister of Works, David Umahi, plans to complete the Benin-Lokoja road project within six months, which was initially awarded in 2012. Three contractors will construct the remaining 30 km, with BUA Group, a Nigerian conglomerate, building an additional 30 km under the tax credit scheme. The government aims to fast-track the project by signing an addendum with contractors to collect 30% of funds and agree on a completion timetable.
