Nexstar disputes $1.2m FCC fine, orders sale of WPIX-TV in New York, claiming compliance and approval in 2020.
Nexstar Media Group has disputed the FCC's action, fining it $1.2 million and ordering its partner, Mission Broadcasting, to sell WPIX-TV in New York. Nexstar claims it has always complied with FCC regulations and that its relationship with WPIX-TV was approved in 2020 when Mission Broadcasting purchased the station. The company intends to "vigorously" dispute the FCC's decision.
