Mossman Sugar Mill, a significant employer in Far North Queensland, entered liquidation after a last-minute investor bid to purchase the 127-year-old mill failed. The mill's parent company, Daintree Bio Precinct Group, had been facing liquidation since November 2023. Following the withdrawal of the investor, Clever Power Pty Ltd, the mill will cease operations, affecting local workers and growers. Administrators will work with stakeholders to manage the liquidation process.
