Manitoba's deficit is projected to reach nearly $2B, due to losses at Manitoba Hydro, tax cuts, and increased health sector wages. This is a significant increase from the previous $1.6B forecast in December and the $363M initially predicted in last year's budget. Widespread drought conditions have caused a $190M loss for Manitoba Hydro, contributing to the increased deficit.
