Japan finalized support measures to address liquefaction caused by the New Year's Day earthquake in the Noto Peninsula, affecting Ishikawa, Toyama, and Niigata prefectures. The measures include a 50% increase in subsidies, from 25% to 75%, for local governments and paying half the costs for fixing liquefaction damage to residential areas, public infrastructure, and improving earthquake resistance.
