Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi condemns Nigerian government's list of alleged terrorist financiers, including ally Kaduna-based publisher Tukur Mamu.
Renowned Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, has condemned the Nigerian government's list of alleged 'terrorist financiers', which was released by the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU). Top on the list was Gumi's ally, Kaduna-based publisher Tukur Mamu, who is currently facing federal government charges for allegedly aiding terrorists involved in the Abuja-Kaduna train attack in March 2022. Gumi argues that the case is currently in court and insists that it is wrong to resort to media trials. He emphasized that the court, not a security agency, should declare someone a terrorist financier.
