India's DGCA fines Air India Rs 80 lakh for flight duty time and fatigue management violations.

India's aviation regulator, DGCA, has fined Air India Rs 80 lakh ($103,000) for violating flight duty time limitations and fatigue management systems of flight crew. The fine follows a spot audit by DGCA in January that revealed insufficient weekly rest periods for crew, inadequate rest before and after ultra-long range flights, and instances of exceeding duty periods. Air India's response to the show cause notice issued was deemed unsatisfactory, leading to the fine.
