Exxon Mobil is ahead of schedule in doubling its LNG portfolio to 40 million tons by 2030, focusing on selling its own gas.

Exxon Mobil is ahead of schedule in its plan to double its LNG (liquefied natural gas) portfolio to 40 million tons annually by 2030, according to senior vice president for global LNG, Peter Clarke. The company plans to focus on selling its own gas rather than trading that of third parties as part of a revamped LNG trading strategy. Exxon's volumes will increase through the Golden Pass LNG project, where it has a 30% stake with QatarEnergies as a partner, and projects in the US, Papua New Guinea, and Mozambique.
