285,000 Dodge and Chrysler sedans from 2018 to 2021 recalled due to defective side airbag inflators made by Joyson Safety Systems.

Stellantis recalls 285,000 Dodge and Chrysler sedans due to defective side airbag inflators that could explode with excessive force during a crash, potentially hurling metal fragments. The recall involves airbag inflators on both sides of Dodge Chargers and Chrysler 300 large cars from 2018 to 2021 model years, with no reported injuries. Dealers will replace both side airbag modules, and owners will be notified starting May 3. The inflators are made by Joyson Safety Systems, which acquired Japanese airbag maker Takata after its bankruptcy.
