Coinbase plans to introduce cash-settled futures for Dogecoin, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash in April.
Cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase plans to introduce cash-settled futures contracts for Dogecoin, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash in April, as announced in a letter to the CFTC on March 7. The company intends to list these futures contracts using the self-certification route under CFTC Regulation 40.2(a), which allows it to proceed without direct approval from the CFTC as long as it complies with the Commodity Exchange Act and CFTC regulations. The move may challenge the SEC to clarify Ethereum's status as either a security or a commodity.
