Chinese authorities accuse Taiwanese fisherman of concealing military identity, awaiting repatriation.
Chinese authorities have accused a Taiwanese fisherman, rescued along with his companion off the Chinese coast, of "intentionally concealing" his identity as an active serviceman in Taiwan's military. The two men were found on March 18 after their boat's engine failed. Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council has expressed hope that China will expedite the repatriation of the two fishermen from Kinmen island, amid ongoing disputes between China and Taiwan over naval incidents in the region.
