Alberta Health Minister removes non-profit agency from post-hospital care list after stroke patient placed in motel.
Alberta Health Minister, Adriana LaGrange, announced a non-profit agency that placed a stroke patient in a motel for long-term recovery will be removed from a list of agencies that offer post-hospital care support. LaGrange stated she did not know who compiled the list or who was responsible for the decision to discharge Blair Canniff, a stroke patient, to a Travelodge south of Edmonton. Canniff's wife reported that the room was not wheelchair accessible, he was fed fast food, and his hygiene was not attended to.
