A 25-year-old Venezuelan woman, María Fernanda Villasmil Manzanilla, has been arrested in the Dominican Republic in connection to the 2019 shooting of former Boston Red Sox player David Ortiz. Una mujer venezolana de 25 años, María Fernanda Villasmil Manzanilla, ha sido arrestada en República Dominicana en relación con el tiroteo ocurrido en 2019 contra el exjugador de los Medias Rojas de Boston, David Ortiz. Although not the intended target, Ortiz was mistakenly shot in Santo Domingo and received medical treatment in the Dominican Republic and Boston. Ten people were convicted for their roles in the attack, with the shooter receiving a 30-year prison sentence.
