South Korea aims to proactively support its semiconductor industry and achieve $120bn annual chip exports. Minister Ahn Duk-geun plans to strengthen the ecosystem of materials, parts, equipment, and fabless sectors, and accelerate development of high-bandwidth memory and AI chips. This move comes as India invests $26bn in semiconductor manufacturing, while SK hynix Inc. plans four fabrication plants by 2046.
