152% increase in Shared Ownership home sales in Q4 2021 by Leicestershire-based Platform, with 192 new homes sold.

Leicestershire-based housing association Platform reported a 152% increase in Shared Ownership home sales in Q4 2021 compared to the same period in 2020, selling 192 new homes. The rise in popularity is attributed to the affordability of the scheme, which allows buyers to purchase a portion of a property and pay rent on the remainder. The scheme has enabled 103,000 homebuyers to purchase properties in the past decade, with 86 reservations recorded in February, the highest monthly volume on record.
