Calcutta High Court has directed the Indian government to file an affidavit within three weeks over a PIL alleging arbitrary Aadhaar card deactivation using Section 28A of the Aadhaar Act. The Joint Forum against NRC claims that these sections, meant for foreign nationals, are being misused to deactivate Indian citizens' cards. The matter will be revisited on April 25th.
