British company Mondi acquires Hinton pulp mill in Alberta for $5M, plans to produce sustainable packaging materials. Mondi, which has 22,000 employees in 30 countries, intends to invest in the mill to improve productivity and sustainability performance, and is considering expanding the mill with a new kraft paper machine to produce 200,000 tonnes of kraft paper annually. The purchase marks Mondi's first Canadian acquisition.
