Azerbaijan and IAEA explore nuclear applications to detect landmines at the Nuclear Energy Summit 2024.
Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov announced at the Nuclear Energy Summit 2024 in Brussels that Azerbaijan and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) are exploring the potential use of nuclear applications to detect landmines. Bayramov also highlighted the importance of addressing nuclear safety and facilitating affordable access to nuclear technologies for peaceful purposes. Together with the IAEA, Azerbaijan is developing a framework document for the next five years, which includes studying the feasibility of using nuclear energy in the context of Azerbaijan's efforts to transition to clean energy.
