75% of UK women feel uncomfortable sharing political opinions online due to fears of misogyny, trolling, and harassment, according to a study by the Alan Turing Institute. Women were almost twice as likely as men to report negative experiences online and were significantly more likely to be directly targeted by abusive content. The research warns that gender inequality in online discourse could worsen if women continue to fear participating in online discussions.
