Thailand's national police chief, Torsak Sukvimol, and his deputy, Surachate Hakparn, have been temporarily suspended amid allegations of a power struggle. Accusations against Surachate, who has been accused of involvement in an illegal online gambling ring, have raised concerns over potential internal conflicts within the police department. The two senior officers have been moved to inactive posts within the Office of the Prime Minister, which oversees the police force.
