South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster signed a law allowing open carry of guns without a permit, reducing the minimum age to 18.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has signed a new law into effect, allowing adults who can legally own a gun to carry them openly without a permit. The ceremony took place at the Statehouse in Columbia, marking a significant milestone in gun rights. Under the new law, individuals no longer need to hide guns in their vehicles, and concealed weapons permits remain available, with the state offering free training sessions across its 46 counties, allocating $4 million to $5 million for the cause. The law also reduces the minimum age for carrying a gun to 18, lowering the previous requirement of 21.
