21-passenger Ghana Air Force helicopter conducts emergency landing near Agona Nkwanta during offshore powerline inspection of Atuabo Gas Plant; no fatalities.
A Ghana Air Force (GAF) helicopter with 21 passengers on board, including staff from the Ghana National Gas Company, made an emergency landing in the Bonsokrom area near Agona Nkwanta, Western Region, Ghana. All passengers were accounted for and there were no fatalities. The helicopter was conducting routine offshore powerline inspection of the Atuabo Gas Plant when the incident occurred. Preliminary assessments have begun to determine the cause of the emergency landing.
