MORE THAN 110 PEOPLE HAVE DIED IN PROTECTED ACCOMMODATION SINCE ITS INCEPTION

114 deaths have been recorded in Ireland's protected accommodation facilities since 2002, with over 110 people passing away during the 18-year period. The International Protection Accommodation Service (IPAS) reports that more men (78) than women (32) have died, with an average age of 26-39 and 40-55. Nigerian nationals make up the largest ethnic group among the deceased.
