Missing swimmer found dead off Playa del Rey, Los Angeles, after night swim with friends.
A missing swimmer was reported off Playa del Rey, Los Angeles, at 1 a.m. on Wednesday. Three friends went for a night swim, and only two returned. Lifeguards and search and rescue crews suspended the search at dawn due to fog but resumed after sunrise. The swimmer's body was found about 300 yards from where he was last seen, in the water near Marina del Rey at 8 a.m. The swimmer's identity remains unknown.
