Ireland’s Varadkar to quit as PM in surprise move, reports say.
Ireland's Prime Minister, Leo Varadkar, has announced his resignation as Taoiseach (Prime Minister) and Fine Gael party leader, citing both personal and political reasons. Varadkar's departure as head of the three-party coalition does not automatically trigger a general election. Varadkar, who became Ireland's Taoiseach in 2017, is the youngest person to have held the position.
