Incumbent Justice Joy Cunningham has defeated Appellate Court Judge Jesse Reyes in the race for a full 10-year term on Illinois Supreme Court, according to Associated Press projections. Cunningham, who was appointed in late 2022 to replace former Chief Justice Anne Burke, previously served as a Circuit Court judge in Cook County and holds a law degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
