Former Trump advisor Peter Navarro becomes first White House official jailed.

Former Trump advisor Peter Navarro, the first official from the Trump administration to serve prison time, has been denied a Supreme Court bid to avoid his four-month sentence for contempt of Congress. Navarro was convicted in 2023 for defying a subpoena from the Democrat-led House Jan. 6 select committee. He is set to report to a minimum-security camp in Miami, Florida, on March 19 to start serving his sentence. This makes him the first White House official to be jailed for contempt of Congress.
