Former Irish player Lee Carsley declines Republic of Ireland manager position consideration.
Former Irish player Lee Carsley, currently coaching England's Under-21 team, has ruled himself out of the running for the Republic of Ireland manager position. Carsley met with the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) in November but confirmed that their conversation did not progress further. The FAI is still searching for a permanent replacement for Stephen Kenny, with John O'Shea serving as interim head coach.
