Coney Island amusement park in Ohio permanently closes; community group Save Coney Islanders seeks to preserve historical Sunlite Pool amid plans for a $118M music venue.

Coney Island, an Ohio amusement park, has closed permanently after 125 years of operation. Save Coney Islanders, a community group, is fighting to preserve the historic Sunlite Pool on the park's premises. They've offered to buy the pool's land from Music & Event Management Inc. (MEMI), a Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra subsidiary, at fair market value. MEMI plans to build a $118M music venue, but the group has gathered nearly 25,000 signatures in a petition to save the pool, which opened in 1925.
