Caribbean leaders announced that all groups and political parties, except one, have nominated representatives for a transitional presidential council to select an interim prime minister for Haiti amid ongoing gang violence. The council was originally intended to have nine members, but was reduced to eight after the Pitit Desalin party declined a seat. The Dec. 21 group, which is aligned with Prime Minister Ariel Henry, was the last to submit a nominee.
