Business Secretary Kemi Badenoch criticizes UK diversity policies as counterproductive and suggests a new framework for employers' D&I practices.
Business Secretary Kemi Badenoch has criticised the UK's current diversity policies, claiming they are "counterproductive" and should not come at the expense of white men. The Inclusion at Work Panel, appointed by Badenoch last year, found that EDI initiatives had little impact in increasing diversity or reducing prejudice, and recommended that the government should endorse a new framework of criteria employers could apply to their D&I practices for effectiveness and value for money. The report also called for the Equality and Human Rights Commission to explain and clarify the legal status for employers in relation to D&I practices.
