A British Columbia teacher, Graham Christopher Bowering, has been permanently banned from teaching after being convicted of possessing child pornography. Bowering, a former Ross Road Elementary teacher in North Vancouver, was charged in April 2021 and received a 10-month conditional sentence and two years probation. The Teacher Regulation Branch deemed his actions unethical and damaging to the credibility of the teaching profession, as they violated laws protecting children from sexual exploitation.
